“What Program is Right for ME?”

An Overview of Beachbody Exercise and Fitness Routines

A lot of people don’t know where to start when it comes to health and fitness. So they make one of two mistakes: they do nothing, or they pick the hardest thing available (and unfortunately, usually fail!). Beachbody has a variety of programs. I believe that 95% of people will find something in the catalog that fits their needs perfectly. Since all of these can be done in the privacy of your home, you can get rolling whenever you want without any of the hassles or expense of going to a gym.

Slim in 6 is a great program for ladies who are just starting to work out, and it’s perfect for those who want to get a grip on how to lose weight too. The included workbook is a convenient size to fit in a purse or briefcase, so you can have it with you all day. In addition to helpful information about how to stick with the plan, there are pages to record how you’re doing: what you ate, how hard you worked out, what’s helping or hurting your progress, even how much water you drank!
10 Minute Trainer is my #1 recommendation for guys who are new to working out, couples who want to work out together, people who are pressed for time (that’s everybody, right?), or anybody who does a lot of traveling. “I don’t have time” is no longer an excuse! Stack 2 or 3 ten minute workouts for the best results. It comes with diet recommendations and a B-Lines resistance band. Since the band is the only equipment you’ll need, you can workout almost anyplace! Here’s a complete review.
I like to think of Power 90 as “P90X Pre-Season”. It’s the program that will make you ready to take on bigger and harder workouts. You’ll still get Tony Horton’s approachable plan, just at a different level. It comes with a handy, kitchen friendly book of simple recipes and of course a guide book to keep track of your progress.
Turbo Jam is what your old aerobics class should have been! Chalene Johnson makes exercise as fun as possible and keeps you moving with her unique combination of light dance moves, martial arts moves, and resistance training. The guidebook walks you through every move, and includes great recipes too. Look out! Turbo Fire is coming out soon!
Chalene not funky enough for you? Shaun T focuses on the abs in this fun set of workouts called Hip Hop Abs!
P90X has become the gold standard of home workouts. It’s one of the most intense lifting regimens you can do outside a gym, bundled with cardio workouts in Plyometrics and Kempo, balanced with yoga and stretch. The whole 12 weeks is scientifically designed to get you the maximum possible results. Those late night infomercials? They’re for real. Bring it!

For an even more advanced workout, be sure to add on P90X Plus.

Tony Horton isn’t the only person who will show you how to lift weights. Chalene Johnson brings a woman-friendly weight workout in ChaLEAN Extreme. But don’t worry guys, you’re invited too! This program focuses on compound movements to get a great workout into limited time. A great introduction to weight lifting for almost anybody. You can read a complete review here.
Insanity is without question the hardest workout ever put on DVD, and — if you can complete it — you will get great results. It is not recommended for beginners. Since there is a heavy plyometric component, people with knee, hip, back, or joint problems should choose a different workout. However, if you are ready for it, Insanity is the craziest workout you’ll ever love. Insanity is High Intensity Inverval Training [HIIT] at it’s finest. Here’s a complete review. Dig Deeper!
Sometimes the same old workouts get dull. Or maybe there’s an area of fitness you would like to explore more. Either way, One on One with Tony Horton has you covered. Just order the ones you want, or have a new workout delivered to your door every month! Supplement your favorite workout program, or build your own. As Tony said “Do what works for you! There’s all kinds of variety.”
